Terrible soirée pour l’Olympique de Marseille ce mardi lors de la dernière journée de la phase de poules de la Ligue des champions : les Phocéens se sont inclinés 4-0 face à Liverpool qui du coup termine à la deuxième place du groupe derrière Porto, qui a dans le même temps battu Besiktas (2-0, buts de Gonzalez et Quaresma).
La soirée avait on ne peut plus mal débuté pour l’OM, mené 2-0 après 12 minutes suite à des buts de Gerrard sur penalty et Fernando Torres. Dès le retour des vestiaires, Kuyt ajoutait un troisième but avant une ultime réalisation dans les arrêts de jeu de Babel. Malgré ce lourd revers, Marseille jouera les 16e de finale de la Coupe de l’UEFA, puisqu’il termine troisième du groupe A devant Besiktas.
