27.000 membres du site internet MyFootballClub.co.uk vont devenir les heureux propriétaires d’un club amateur 5e division, Ebbsfleet United, en Angleterre. Chacun de ces membres a versé une somme modeste pour réunir les 850.000 euros nécessaires au rachat.
Le plus compliqué reste cependant à venir.
En effet, les internautes membres de MyFootballClub.co.uk auront leur mot à dire sur la composition de l’équipe et les transferts de joueurs, via leur site. L’entraîneur du club Liam Daish en a toutefois appelé au sérieux des internautes : «Ils vont avoir affaire avec l’existence de joueurs qui soutiennent leur famille avec ce qu’ils gagnent ici. Aussi longtemps que tout le monde prend ça aussi au sérieux que les joueurs, je ne vois pas le problème.»
