Vidéo d’un suicide assisté : débat en Grande Bretagne

La chaine privée britannique Sky Real Lives va diffuser, mercredi 10 décembre, “Right to Die ?” Il s’agit d’un documentaire montrant le suicide assisté de Craig Ewert, un Américain de 59 ans vivant en Grande-Bretagne, atteint d’une maladie neurologique.

Pour mettre fin à son cauchemar, il s’est donné la mort en septembre 2006 dans une clinique spécialisée en Suisse. Il avait accepté que ce suicide assisté soit filmé jusqu’au bout.

Le reportage est diffusé pour l’instant en allemand sur internet par l’association Dignitas. Pour information, le moment fatidique intervient à partir de la 41ème minute :

Alors que ce n’est toujours pas diffusé à la télévision, l’affaire relance le débat sur la mort assistée en accusant le reportage de “glorification de la mort”… Il serait bon qu’on le lance aussi réellement en France.
